Doctrine Matters
Christians have the high calling of being found faithful servants of our Lord Jesus Christ and trustworthy stewards of the mysteries of God (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Since Christianity is derived solely from the holy Scriptures, Bible doctrine is the backbone of our Spirituality. As Paul wrote to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:15), believers must be careful to be precise when studying the Scriptures. Sound Bible doctrine must be an accurate reflection of what the Bible actually says. This means Christians are not to go beyond what has been written (1 Corinthians 4:6) and are to avoid syncretizing it with either deceptive philosophies (Colossians 2:8) or hollow myths - like the apocryphal or pseudepigraphical books for example (1 Timothy 1:4; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; Titus 1:14).
Grace Underground Fellowship chooses to embrace this high calling joyfully and with humility. Therefore, each statement below reflects the biblical convictions of Grace Underground Fellowship regarding the major doctrinal themes of Scripture. Each one is uncompromising in what it entails, being drawn plainly from the Word of God.
Our shorter doctrinal statement is below – the longer statement is currently being worked on. Once each statement is completed, it will be added below.

The Bible (the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments) are “God-breathed.” They were written by faithful people as they were “moved by the Holy Spirit” to write and speak exactly the message intended by God. The Scriptures are verbally inspired, wholly without error of any kind on every topic discussed in the original autographs. From those original autographs and with substantial integrity in copying and translating, we have reasonable belief that the bible today is the veritable Word of God.
We believe that the New Testament is persevered in the “Majority Text” (i.e., Byzantine Text-type). The Bible ought to be interpreted as language is normally used, recognizing the importance of grammatical, historical, and dispensational distinctions.

The Lord God
We believe the Lord God eternally exists in three distinct, relational Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – who are together one uncreated Spirit Being. He alone is everlasting, all mighty, creatively free, exhaustively wise and altogether loving. And He alone is deserving of all honor, confidence, and obedience.
As a deeply relational and immanent Living Being, He interacts with and observes His creation in real time – giving tasks to see what people will do and tests them to see what’s in their hearts, dynamically leading humanity towards His ideal purposes and responding to humanities libertarian free-will choices with authentic, deeply felt emotion.

We believe that God the Son became a man with the same flesh as us all through His miraculous conception by God the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and was named Jesus. He voluntarily lived a sinless life, died on a cross to forgive sin once and for all, was raised from the dead on the third day, taught about the kingdom of God for 40 days, bodily ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father until His imminent bodily return to earth.
